Bacon, how you charm me.

Dear Feastlings,

While I’m acutely aware that many of you eschew bacon on religious or moral grounds, and that some of you simply don’t like it, I’ve got to say that I’m fond of it. Call me a traitor to my cultural heritage if you must, or judge me for my omnivorous tendencies, but I have to admit an affection for the pork belly. Today begins the tenth of your thirteen menus of summer requests, and bacon makes two appearances on that menu, so you can begin and end your meal with it. The bittersweet bacon salad makes its return today, as does the maple-bacon ice cream. Vegetarians and pescatarians, fret not, as there’s a mahi sandwich on the menu too, and a trout stuffed with bananas, avocados, cilantro and chilies. And the eggplant Napoleon comes back for a week as well. You can see all the details at the bottom of this page:

And as long as I have your attention, I’ll remind you of this week’s wine tasting and bad pun, a selection of Chilean wines called “it’s getting Chile out there.”

And I’ll remind you that next Wednesday is Ferragosto, and in the interest of extolling the virtues of Italian cuisine and wine, we’re offering a special menu all day. Reservations are an excellent plan, in spite of the dearth of summer business, because, as it turns out, there’s also a dearth of summer activities, so we’ll likely be busy.
Whatever reason you find to come in, we’d be delighted to see you.

Love,

Your friends at Feast
