4 California Appellations

Dear Feastlings,

Every appellation has characteristics that it imparts to wines, and those of us who taste a lot of wine eventually get the hang of identifying those characteristics, but a number of us are more likely to have a glass of wine with dinner, or if we’re with friends, maybe get a taste of a second or third bottle, but more than likely, we’re tasting different varietals, or getting tipsier, or tasting them next to different foods, and before you know it, we can’t really define the difference between a Central Coast terroir and that of Sonoma.  This Saturday, you’ll have the rare opportunity to taste four different wines, all the same grape, all made by the same winemaker, but all hailing from different appellations.  As per usual, the tasting will take place this Saturday at 2:00, and it will cost a mere $10 plus tax and tip.  It will include snacks and information, the two things you’re hungry for, and wine, for which you’re thirsty, and you’ll need to make a reservation (by phone, please- web and email reservations won’t work to hold your spot.) But we’ll certainly be delighted to have you join us.
