Mardi Gras. But also Dimanche Gras and Mercredi Gras.

Dearest Feastlings,
The four of you who read all my emails know that forethought and planning are not my specialty. If that were the case, I’d have decided 19 years ago that the Feast menu would only change on occasion. As it turns out, we still change the menu each month, and today is the day it changes. You can see our new offerings here.

But the ever-changing menu is my problem, not yours, and truthfully, it’s one of the reasons I still actually enjoy what I do, regardless of the suggestions and feedback I get to read on Yelp and TripAdvisor. What is conceivably your problem is this: our scheduling a wine dinner with the esteemed Andrew Januik of Januik, Andrew Januik and Novelty Hill wineries was done with complete and total disregard for Mardi Gras.

Not that we throw a big party and hand out beads and whatnot, but I know that we fill up quickly when we offer a celebratory bowl of crawfish etouffee, and now we’ll have forty or so fewer seats than we usually do. My solution? Offer it both before and after Fat Tuesday as well. Yes, for you purists, we’ll have crawfish etouffee on the 25th, but for those of you who, like me, place more importance of the food of any given holiday than on the holiday itself, you’ll still be able to enjoy a bowl of tasty goodness before and after Fat Tuesday. If, like me, you’re also a wine nerd, you may want to join us on Tuesday for the wine dinner rather than Mardi Gras, and come on Sunday or Wednesday for lunch or dinner as well.
You’ll be please to know in the meanwhile that we have indeed planned for Valentine’s Day, and we’ll be offering a prix fixe menu alongside a limited selection of our regular menu items, and we encourage you to join us for that as well.

Please note: we will close from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on Valentine’s Day to get our special menu set up for you.
Now come visit us, whether it’s for etouffee, or udon, or Valentine’s Day specials, or to meet Andrew Januik. You’re invited all the time.

Love,
Doug and everyone else at Feast
