Dear Feastlings,
Of course Bordeaux and Burgundy are fabulous. And Napa and Sonoma? Fabulous in a different way, but fabulous nonetheless. But when you live in Tucson, the idea of a short and sweet little trip to Santa Barbara County holds plenty of convenience-related appeal- it’s closer, obviously, and the wines are notably more affordable than those of the aforementioned faraway lands. So this month, we’ll head out to visit those three saints- Santa Rita Hills, Santa Maria and Santa Ynez. All in Santa Barbara County, which I guess technically makes four saints. Because our guests who want to do this from home still evidently outnumber those who want to do it here, and because I’m not talented enough to run a part in-person/part remote tasting while simultaneously talking wine with our presenters and putting out food pairings, this will be an all-remote tasting.
With any luck, this will be our last all-virtual tasting, however, and if you call us at 326-9363, we’ll set aside samples and snacks for you to pick up, and we’ll all meet on the screen at 3:30 pm. The tasting is $35 plus tax and tip for the Sunday pours and their food pairings, and we’d be happy as larks to include you.
