The boot.

Dear Feastlings,

I have an undeniable weakness for the wines of Italy.  Yes, I’m well aware that the wines of Puglia are completely different from the wines of Tuscany, which are in turn different from the wines of Piedmont, which are different from the Veneto, and from Umbria, and so on and so on.  But let’s face it: throughout Italy, there’s a food culture, and its wines are built to go with food, and there are literally thousands of wineries and thousands of varietals, so no matter how many times we have a tasting of Italian wines, it’s pretty clear that we’ll never get past the tip of the iceberg when it comes to tasting the entire boot.  This week, we’ll at least check four wines off of that list, however.  Our friend Mike Galkin will be with us, maps and stories in hand, to walk you through four delicious, food-friendly Italian treats.

For a cool $15 plus tax and tip, you’ll travel Piemonte and Toscana by way of their wines, and you’ll likely find some things you enjoy that you didn’t think were even out there (Chardonnay from the Langhe?  Yep.)

Give us a jingle at (520) 326-9363 and we’ll set a place at the table for you- the tasting begins at 2:00 pm this Saturday, May 20th.

You can see the pricing and tasting order of the wines here.
