The unusual suspects

Dear Feastlings,

We’ve tasted the usual suspects hundreds of times over the years- nay, thousands: Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Burgundy, Grenache and Syrah, Viognier and Grenache Blanc from the Rhône, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from Bordeaux and Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire.  This week, though, we thought we’d put before you some varietals you don’t get a chance to taste as often.  Okay, in fairness, you’ve seen Malbec before, but we’d guess it’s likely you tasted an Argentine Malbec more recently than one from Cahors, and we’re relatively certain you didn’t follow a glass of Chasselas last night with a blend of Caledoc and Marselan.

If you’d like to join us this week to taste some off-the-beaten-path French varietals, we’d suggest you place a call to Feast at (520) 326-9363, then show up this Saturday, April 6, at 2:00 pm with $18 plus tax and tip in your pocket, ready to hang out with us and our pal Mike to taste through some curious wines and rub elbows with your cronies.  We hope you can make it.
