Argentina, from W to Z

Dear Feastlings,

We thought we’d offer up two regions, two producers, and three varietals this week, all from Argentina.  While we get our fair share of Mendoza wines here in the US, we’ll be tasting a couple from the Paraje Altamira GI, a subappellation of the Valle de Uco, which is, in turn, a subappellation of Mendoza.  So you’re likely sort of familiar, but sort of not, with the area.  For extra fun, they’ll be juxtaposed with some treats from Patagonia, a vastly different region from whence you can see not only grapevines, but penguins as well, and experience what the difference in altitude and the difference in latitude mean to vines and wines.

The tasting takes place this Saturday, April 13th, at 2:00 pm, and for $18 plus tax and tip, you can join us and our friend Jennifer for a brief but enjoyable exploration of Patagonian producer Wapisa, and Paraje Altamira producer Zaha and their respective wines.  Call us at (520) 326-9363 and we’ll save you a seat.
