A reason to come to Feast, and a reason not to.

Hello, Feastlings,

As if I didn’t already write to you enough, I didn’t realize on Tuesday that I should have mentioned something else. It turns out that Callaghan Vineyards and Feast, both having been around for a spell in Southern Arizona, each have something of a following, so when Kent and Lisa asked us if we’d like to do another dinner with them down at the winery, we were not only happy to do it; we assumed that it would fill up without any help from the likes of us.

And it nearly has; I believe there are four or six more seats available for the dinner that takes place down there a week from tomorrow, on July 27th. You can find out about it here:

https://callaghan-vineyards.obtainwine.com/product/feast-restaurant-comes-to-the-vineyard-march-30th

(yes, I know the LINK says March 30th, which was the last dinner we did with them down there, but the dinner is on the 27th of July, and the information on the PAGE is correct. Looks like the Callaghans, much like we, do a little copying and pasting on their website now and again. No judgment here- on our last copy-and-paste wine list, we were offering a white Rioja from the Mosel. Neither geography nor editing is a specialty of mine.)

Anyhow, it’s a great excuse to get out of town, go someplace that, if current conditions are an indication, will top out about 15 degrees cooler than Tucson does. Plus the food and the wine will be tasty.

That would be your reason not to come to Feast, but here’s a reminder that we have two tastings coming up here as well, one this Saturday the 20th at 2:00,

Grillsville

and another- the end-of-month tasting that comes complete with food pairings, on the 27th. I’ll be both-eyebrows-up impressed if any of you manages to come to the 2:00 tasting and food pairing here at Feast and then hightails it down to Sonoita to join the Callaghans and our crew for a 5:00 dinner the same evening. Yow. I’d almost offer a prize, but I hate to encourage that much carrying on in one day for anyone.

Anyhow, that menu and list of wines is forthcoming- four hearty Italian reds- and we’re serving them in preparation for yet another holiday hootenanny at Feast, when we offer up traditional Italian dishes and discount our Italian wines for Ferragosto, whose menu is also forthcoming, but if you want to make a reservation, August 15th falls on a Thursday this year, and we’d love to see you.

There’ll be more soon- a tasting on the 3rd of the wines of Alto Adige, and much, much more. In the meantime, it’s plenty easy to join us throughout July and August-Tucson is empty enough that you can waltz right in here unless it’s Ferragosto. I had a guest at lunch ask me today how we stay open. Sigh.

So it falls upon us to keep creating reasons for you to get out and join us for dinner, or lunch, or a tasting, or what have you, so keep on the lookout for more news, and remain happy, healthy and cool in the meantime.

See you soon.

Love,

Doug and your numerous friends at Feast
