Dear Feastlings,
They say to dress for the job you want rather than the job you have, and this week, we’ll be pouring the wines not from where we live, but where we want to be right now. We can’t speak to your personal preferences, but having just checked the weather, it’s fully nineteen degrees cooler up there than it is here, and at night, it’ll be twenty-four degrees cooler. Up where, you ask? Why, the Willamette Valley.
I know we’ve chosen to live in the desert, but after a few months of temperatures holding as steady as this, we’re all ready to pretend we’re hanging out in the deep green rolling hills of Oregon, and what better way to pretend such a thing than with a quaffable glass of tasty Willamette Valley wine?
This being our end of the month tasting, pours will be more substantial, food will be presented alongside the wines, and we’ll step it up a bit in terms of the wines themselves. The price will correspond, at $45 plus tax and tip, and we feel confident that it will be worth it to you. Our buddy Mike will be here with two whites and two reds from various parts of the Willamette Valley, and, as someone who’s tasted them in advance, I can tell you that they, like you, are quite special. And aren’t you special enough to enjoy a special wine now and again?
