Trust your importer: wine dinner with Alex Durfee of Oliver McCrum Wines and Spirits

Hello, Feastlings,

It’s finally nearly that time again: the time when wine reps make their rounds in Tucson.  If I had a territory of six or seven states, you wouldn’t catch me in Tucson until I could be assured the temperature would drop below a hundred degrees, and so I can’t fault our new friend Alex of Oliver McCrum Wines and Spirits for waiting until such a time to visit the Old Pueblo.  I can assure you, it’s been worth the wait.  Oliver McCrum is first and foremost an importer of the literal and figurative fruits of Italy, and heretofore not represented in Arizona, so you may not recognize the producers of these wines, but once you’ve acquainted yourselves with this evening’s wines, and met Alex and learned a bit about Oliver McCrum, you’ll be able to pick up a bottle of Italian wine you don’t recognize, turn the bottle around questioningly to see that McCrum brings it across the water, and feel confident in your decision to buy it.

If you’d like to join us for the dinner, here are the pertinent details: it takes place on Wednesday, October 16th, here at Feast, at 6:00 pm.  It costs $130 plus tax and tip.  The wines are great fun and the food has been built around the wines.  The phone number for you to call to reserve your place at the table is (520) 326-9363.  The menu looks like this:
