Hoping to become normal.

Dear Feastlings,

This past weekend felt mysteriously normal. Not that normal can even be defined very easily these days, but it felt like a restaurant in here, which it hasn’t for a bit.

This summer has been a quiet one, as people have returned to traveling, and I’m glad for them- it’s a sad state of affairs when a place whose thermometer already hovers in the triple digits finds itself unseasonably warm. I can only hope that people continue to travel when Tucson again becomes a destination, though, as the summer has left us with tighter belts and some queasy apprehension. Although it may just be the state of the planet that leaves us with queasy apprehension.

Regardless, after a quiet lunch that belies the weekend’s buzzy atmosphere, here I am beating the going-out drum again.

As luck would have it, we’ve created a few options for you. Obviously, there’s the October menu, of which you can avail yourself any Tuesday through Saturday.

But we’ve also got a wine tasting set up for this Saturday, as we’re wont to do:

The Coast is clear(ly delicious.)

And there are a couple of additional events as well. First, there’s a dinner coming up next week with Alex Durfee of Oliver McCrum Wines and Spirits, importer of Italian deliciousness. It’s on Wednesday the 16th, at 6 pm, and the wines, I can tell you from experience, are special without being bankbreakers. The menu looks like this, and it promises to be a great dinner.

November holds more in store for you, like a dinner to benefit the Rogue Theatre in conjunction with their production of Italo Calvino’s novel(ettes,) If on a winter’s night a traveler. The dinner takes place after their matinee performance on Sunday, November 3rd, at 5:00 pm, and although we still have yet to reopen on Sundays as a regular offering, we’ll be here for you and the Rogue that day.

Likewise, on Sunday, November 17th, we’ll be here for you and Deep Sky Vineyard, when we do a dinner for you, them, and their wine club members, so we encourage you to join us for that as well.

I know. It’s a lot. But with any luck, one of these events speaks to you, or several of them, and you’ll look forward to them as much as we are. See you soon.
