Putting the fat in your Fat Tuesday

Dear Feastlings,

When I sat down to write you three and a half hours ago, I had magnificent plans- I wanted to let you all know that it was New Menu Day

and that it’s also Fat Tuesday, which means that we’ve been dutifully simmering crawfish etouffee this weekend to be ready for you today.

As it happens, apparently a great number of you had already marked your calendars, and I found myself backing up the servers for a busy lunch hour today, for which, yet again, I’m supremely grateful. There’ll be more tonight, and we’ll be blackening some redfish as well for the occasion, so if you’d like to join us, or just pick something up, we’d love to see you.

and once again, here’s a reminder that we’re coming in on Monday the 17th to serve up an abundance of corned beef and cabbage. But you’ll hear more about that later. For now, it’s a good day to come in and get a bowl of etouffee and perhaps some asparagus and salsify. Or any number of other treats.
