The middle of the Boot.

Dear Feastlings,

There’s a lot of prestige in the wines of Piedmont, and a lot rustic charm in the wines of Puglia, but this month’s tasting is all about the middle of the boot- Bolgheri, Montalcino, and Umbria- and there’s a surprisingly diverse collection of wines that you can find between Rome and Florence.  Our friend Lorenzo Mattoni will be with us, teaching us about both the long-term and short-term history of the wines of central Italy, including his own- a Montefalco Sagrantino that will cause a tear to swell in your eye.  The good way.  The tasting begins at 3:30 on Sunday, November 29th, and costs $35 plus tax and tip.

You’ll get three-ounce pours of each of the wines, plus a little snack paired specifically to each one, and you’ll have a visit with Lorenzo and Doug, one for wine and the other for food, and you’ll get a discount on the wines you fall in love with.  You can call us at 326-9363 to order your samples, which will be available to pickup on the 27th.

You can find the tasting order and the pricing for the wines here.

You’ll find heating instructions for the food pairings here.

THE MEETING NUMBER FOR THE TASTING, WHICH BEGINS AT 3:30 PM ON SunDAY THE 29th, IS 812 7484 4798.  THE PASSCODE is 896304.
