Barbera at its best

Dear Feastlings,

Yes, when the occasion merits it, we start thumbing through the wine list at the Barolo and Barbaresco end of the Piedmont spectrum.  But one seventh of the week is a Tuesday- a night when we still want something irrefutably delicious, but that’s maybe less of a bank-breaker.  This week, we meet the true workhorse of Piedmont- the bottle that the Piedmontese reach for an the end of the day- Barbera.  We’ll taste three different iterations of Barbera from three different appellations in Piedmont, and for good measure, we’ll throw America’s hat in the ring with one from Amador County.  It’s only $12.50 plus tax and tip to pick up the samples, and it’s free to tune in to the Zoom tasting on Saturday, March 20, at 2:00 pm.  Mull it over- each of them is delicious in its own right.

The zoom tasting begins at 2:00 pm on Saturday, march 20th, and the meeting number is 856 0148 1592.  The passcode is 611885.
