Dear Feastlings,
We love wine from everywhere- from coast to coast here in the US, all over the Old World and throughout the southern hemisphere as well, but if you look at the wine list here, you’ll see that we indisputably have a soft spot for that gigantic, boot-shaped peninsula: Italy. The wines are built to enjoy with food, they have a hedonistic streak tempered with the seriousness and balance of acidity and controlled tannin that balance sun-soaked fruit. It invariably makes us want to fill a glass, whether it’s sophisticated stuff to swirl and sniff whilst we rub our chins and quietly consider, or whether it’s proud peasant wine to be drunk from a water glass amid friendly arguments and table-slapping.
This week, we pull the corks on four worthy considerations from all over Italy, north and south both, and shoot the breeze about the wines and whatever rabbit hole we end up in while we taste and talk, both in person and remotely. If you’d like us to save you a set of samples, we’re happy to. You’ll need to call us at (520) 326-9363, and bring $15 plus tax and tip, and you can join us to taste these gems this Saturday, April 2, at 2:00 pm. Check them out.
THE TASTING BEGINS ON ZOOM AT 2:00 PM ON SATURDAY, April 2. THE ZOOM MEETING NUMBER FOR THE TASTING IS 890 7332 1803, AND THE PASSCODE is 507075.
