Do not look behind the curtain

Dear Feastlings,

I won’t act as if we have our act together all the time, or even sometimes, but even though we’ve managed to appear to pull it off for the most part over the past 21 years, this week has been a feat, for sure.  It was a scramble to choose a theme and wines, so the allure of the Staff Picks Tasting was palpable; powerful, even.  Still, in this post (sort of)- Covid time where plans, deliveries and intentions fall through at the last minute, it felt this week like the world conspired to keep us from putting together a Last Sunday tasting this month.  You’ll be pleased to know that we’ve triumphed, or at least we’re pleased to know we have.  Of the four original picks we made, three of them have changed in the past few days- mercifully, we have a lot of favorites- but we have four wines on hand now, and maybe four people to talk about them, and we’re feverishly cooking up the food pairings to serve alongside them.  And I’ll take a moment to tell you this: these wines are indeed among our faves; the reason our list is so substantial is that, well, we love wine, and we can’t pick just a few.  So know that you can check out a pick each from Katherine, Jeffrey and Doug, and one that we’ve all agreed upon as well, and we’ll see if you feel as strongly about them as we do.  As for us, we’re enchanted, so if you don’t drink them, we will.

You’re familiar by now with the process: call us at (520) 326-9363 and we’ll set aside a set of samples for you, food and wine both, and you can join from the comfort of your home on Zoom at 3:30 this Sunday, the 24th.  All it will cost you is $35 plus tax and tip, and you’ll get wine and education, hand in hand, plus a discount on the wines you fall in love with.  Give us a buzz and reserve your samples and snacks.

THE TASTING BEGINS ON ZOOM AT 3:30 PM ON SunDAY, APRIL 24.  THE ZOOM MEETING NUMBER FOR THE TASTING IS 833 4206 9731, AND THE PASSCODE is 146172.
