Old World, Old Vintage

Dear Feastlings,

After two years of Zoom wine tastings, it’s been an absolute treat to have you all back in our dining room, tasting wine and snacking and reveling in the food-and-drinkness of it all.  And now, as luck would have it (or lack thereof,) we’ve been forced to shutter on Sundays again, simply not having enough people among our meager staff to keep things running six days a week.  We are, therefore, relegated once again to keep the doors locked on Sundays for the time being, but I’m certainly not going to let it stop me from offering a Last Sunday wine tasting.  In fact, this month, we’re upping the ante: The youngest wine in our tasting has eight years under its belt, and there are others dating back to the previous millennium.

The price, I should note, reflects the luxury of drinking wines with significant bottle age on them, but at $50 plus tax and tip, it’s not all that much more than usual, and when’s the last time you tasted a wine that’s taken 25 laps around the sun?  Anyhow, the tasting will begin at 3:30, but, like the old days, it’ll take place on Zoom.

The tasting begins on zoom at 3:30 pm on sunday, MARCH 26.  The Zoom meeting number for the tasting is 874 3802 8047, and the passcode is 334441.

You can find the tasting order and the pricing here, as well as a list of food pairings and heating instructions.
