Dear Feastlings,
If there are grapes with which people are familiar in the current wine era, we’d have to say that the varietals of Bordeaux are abundantly familiar- Maybe Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec less so, but Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot? You’ve got to admit that they’re fairly universally recognized.
There’s a good reason for it: they’re grown all over the place. Bordeaux, obviously, but you’ll find them in California and Australia, in Italy and Argentina and Chile as well. This Saturday, January 20th, you’ll get to taste a couple of Bordeaux proper alongside an Italian version and one from Alexander Valley as well. Our friend Lee joins us with three reds and a white, at 2:00 pm. To join us, make a reservation by calling us at (520) 326-9363, then show up on Saturday with $18 plus tax and tip in your pocket and a thirst for wine, knowledge and esprits de corps.
