Dear Feastlings,
The summer solstice approacheth, and many of you know what that means: we celebrate around here not with actual bonfires, but with our own interpretation of Las Hogueras de San Juan, (that is, the Bonfires of Saint John,) the celebration of Saint John the Baptist that has subsumed the pagan celebration of the Solstice. You’ll see a menu for that day- we’re celebrating on June 25th- before you know it, but in the interest of generating, well, interest, we’re tossing out a couple of Spanish wine tastings beforehand. Why? Because in addition to the assortment of tapas and other Spanish treats you’ll be seeing on the 25th, you’ll also be able to drink Spanish wines with your dinner with the normal built-in corkage fee waived, and that means drinking wine at retail price rather than our restaurant price. So come this Saturday, June 1st, or next Saturday, the 8th, or even Saturday the 15th, and get yourselves familiar with some of your Spanish wine options.
Our friend Emilie joins us this Saturday at 2:00 pm with four Spanish wines, and if these don’t get you in the mood for bonfires and baptism, I don’t know what would. Like the vast majority of our Saturday tastings, this one costs $18 plus tax and tip, and you can reserve your silla and your copa by giving us a llamada at (520) 326-9363.
