Dear Feastlings,
Mother’s Day fast approaches, and while there’s still room for you to make a reservation here or there come Sunday, there’s a number of you who’d far prefer to drop in Saturday at 2:00 for our wine tasting. Not that mom’s not a lovely human being and worthy of celebration, but tasting wine often beats getting the kids all put together for a family dining experience. In the interest of creating a suitable degree of overlap, let’s call this week’s tasting of Italian wines “Mamma mia,” and lift a glass of something delicious in honor of your favorite mom.
Our pal Mike Galkin will be here with Italian treats from the sole of Italy’s boot all the way to the top, and there are some fun ones this week, from classics like Primitivo and Barbera d’Asti to slightly less familiar wines like Arneis and a very light-handed version of Teroldego. You’re more than likely to have a good time, and it would even be fun to get mom out of the house a bit for something quaffable. The tasting begins at 2:00 pm this Saturday, May 11, and costs $18 plus tax and tip. You can reserve seats for you and your mother by calling us at (520) 326-9363.
Mamma mia!
