A quick note to the electorate in our neighborhood

Dear Feastlings,

I can’t tell whether it’s the election cycle or the flu and shingles vaccines that I got yesterday, but I have no energy to get up on a soapbox and remind everyone how important it is to vote, and quite frankly, I can’t imagine it matters if I say anything here- if you don’t know by this point how important it is, there’s likely nothing I can say that will convince you.

So what I will day to you is this: no matter what happens, tomorrow we’ll still be here, so we’re continuing to the the things we do this time of year, election year or not. Today being the first Tuesday of the month, we’ll be kicking off the November menu,

and with Thanksgiving just around the corner, we’ve posted the Thanksgiving carryout menu (NOTE: we’re closed on Thanksgiving Day- our Thanksgiving menu is for pickup the day before, with heating instructions.)

Much like voting, you can order your Thanksgiving meal early- in fact, you have to, as the deadline for Thanksgiving orders is Saturday, November 23rd, at the end of the day.

And if you’re looking for a Sunday evening outing, our friends at Deep Sky Vineyard will be joining us with members of their wine club, and with any of you who’re interested in coming, for a wine dinner with a handful of their new releases. Although we’re still not open on Sundays, we’re practicing a little bit, so you can come for a special treat on the 17th at 6:00 pm. Call us at (520) 326-9363 to have us hold a table for you and yours.

And as to Election Day, I can only imagine that you all feel rather like you got a flu shot and a shingles shot on the same day, but tired or not, and whether it’s celebratory or consolatory, I don’t know about you, but I’m going to be opening a better bottle of wine than I usually do once I know what the results look like, and in an effort to help you all do the same, we’ll be offering a 15% discount any wine you take home today. This should enable you to drink a little fancier than you normally would, whether it’s a bottle or a case. Returns shouldn’t start coming in for a while yet, so before you settle in, feel free to swing by and pick up a bottle of something you deserve.

Happy Election Day. I hope.

Your friend,

Doug
