Ron and Don are two guys who have a lot going for them: their names rhyme, they work on Sundays, they’re nice guys, they did a lot of work in Feast in its current incarnation, and they’re building the bar in the new Feast. You can see them in this photo, though the real star […]
It’s not too pretty to most, but to me, it’s so beautiful I don’t have the vocabulary to describe it. After nine years of a walk-in we have to go outside to get into, we finally have one that opens into the restaurant. Not only that, it’s just one of two. Our current walk-in will […]
I walked into the new building yesterday and saw the colors, and all the color I had in my face immediately drained. The painter wasn’t there anymore, just the kindly man who’s finishing up the last of the ductwork. He saw the look and gave me the good news: This is just the primer; they […]
I want to say this: Development Services has gone out of its way (or is it their way?) to work with us on this whole project. It’s been a new experience, and far, far better than my past experiences with Development Services. I still have a recurring dream where I’m throttling a guy who will […]
I hope this is the last of the ductwork, because I’m running out of puns for the postings. These should be it, though. They’re the ones that take the air to out into the dining areas from the main whatever-it’s-called. As you can see, my construction-related terminology has vastly improved during the course of this […]
The ceiling grid is up in the kitchen (and the hallway, and light fixtures started going in yesterday. They look like this. What else are you going to say about light fixtures, though? I guess I’ve been taking them for granted, but they’re getting more press than the vents that are right next to them.
They arrived a few days late, but the windows are finally here. Our stucco-friends took the day off (remember, pray for rain, but only through Sunday) so our window-friends could go to town, as it were. And they did. Get a load of this photo.
Only a few days ago, our second visitor came and left his mark, and only a few days later, it’s all gone. Sad, I know, but we have the photo and we’ll always treasure our visit from, well, whoever it was.
While the rain’s been good for Tucson, it makes for a nail-biting experience watching the stucco go on. Coat number one is done, and there are two more to go. Pray for rain, but only until Monday. Then pray for no rain for about two days. Then, by all means, pray for rain again. If […]
I think this person’s initials are “TFR,” but maybe that first letter is a C, or a symbol, like the Artist Formerly Known as Prince, Then Eventually Known Again as Prince used to have. Whatever it is, maybe this person and Hektic will become friends. I’m glad TFR (or CFR, or SymbolFR) was kind enough […]
