I hope this is the last of the ductwork, because I’m running out of puns for the postings. These should be it, though. They’re the ones that take the air to out into the dining areas from the main whatever-it’s-called. As you can see, my construction-related terminology has vastly improved during the course of this […]
The ceiling grid is up in the kitchen (and the hallway, and light fixtures started going in yesterday. They look like this. What else are you going to say about light fixtures, though? I guess I’ve been taking them for granted, but they’re getting more press than the vents that are right next to them.
They arrived a few days late, but the windows are finally here. Our stucco-friends took the day off (remember, pray for rain, but only through Sunday) so our window-friends could go to town, as it were. And they did. Get a load of this photo.
Only a few days ago, our second visitor came and left his mark, and only a few days later, it’s all gone. Sad, I know, but we have the photo and we’ll always treasure our visit from, well, whoever it was.
While the rain’s been good for Tucson, it makes for a nail-biting experience watching the stucco go on. Coat number one is done, and there are two more to go. Pray for rain, but only until Monday. Then pray for no rain for about two days. Then, by all means, pray for rain again. If […]
I think this person’s initials are “TFR,” but maybe that first letter is a C, or a symbol, like the Artist Formerly Known as Prince, Then Eventually Known Again as Prince used to have. Whatever it is, maybe this person and Hektic will become friends. I’m glad TFR (or CFR, or SymbolFR) was kind enough […]
Maybe we’re not quite ready to lay out a welcome mat, but at least we have a place to put one. Our front door has been framed out and measurements have been taken for the glass. Now that we have a threshold, I’d say we’ve crossed a couple of figurative thresholds as well: we no […]
Uncrated and full of majesty, our exhaust hood is now hanging from the rafters. In a way, it’s like buying tires, or maybe fixing your roof: it costs a lot more than you feel it should, and in the end, you only have something that you need, as opposed to something fun. That said, I […]
The big green sign is up, so you have a couple of weeks to express your support for (or to complain about) our moving the liquor license to the new location. My vote: support it. We’ll be able to offer tastier drinks with a liquor license. Seriously, doesn’t a Bohemian Bicycle sound good right now? […]
The windows are all framed up; we’re just waiting for the glass. And there’s more going on as well, but it makes for less enthralling photos. There’s insulation in the ceiling, for instance, but I can’t say it’s exciting to look at.
